Welcome to Pink Noise Art Listing; Chavah KINLOCH, Chloe BEACON, Sarah ALEXANDER, Julia FINUCANE and Robyn ROBERTSON
Chloe BEACON
I was born and raised in South Africa, moved to England in my teens and am now living in one of the most exciting countries in the world; China. Based in Shanghai (a city of 20 million), I have the opportunity to photograph more people and interesting places than you could shake a lens at. I have combined my love for photography alongside my passion for travel with visits to Cambodia, Portugal, Thailand, Egypt and, of course, Zhongguo (P.R.China).
I have taken part in several photography workshops, studied photo editing and most recently achieved a diploma in photography from The Photography Institute, London.
Sarah ALEXANDER
Sarah’s work combines traditional painterly techniques with hand-crafted sewn elements which come crashing together to reveal quirky yet intimate narratives of places within the mind. She also creates smaller animal paintings and stuffed creatures for galleries and markets. Her influences range from the natural landscapes of faraway places, to the films from Studio Ghibli, to the puppies she sees here and there, and this is only naming a few. It is these broad interests that keep her dreaming and creating places for strange creatures to reside.
Having graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from AUT in 2008 and a Post Graduate Diploma the following year, Sarah now works in her studio in central Auckland. She wishes she could be surrounded by cute, small animals on a daily basis, but has learned to make do with the ones she sews.
Julia FINUCANE
I love fantasy, fairy tales, dreams, lowbrow art, and cute little things.
My art represents these themes with a story behind each piece.
The themes that are dominant in my artwork are whimsical based and combine reality and the fantasy world. I have always been interested in fantasy and fairy tales and I like to incorporate these stories into my work. I also get inspiration and ideas from events that happen in my everyday life which I include in my artwork as well. I use a lot of metaphoric symbols and colors to show emotion and to portray the stories I am telling. All my pieces have stories behind them, but I encourage everyone to interpret their own stories from my pieces.
Chavah KINLOCH
It is my desire to let out the images that flood my mind. I’m a visual person which can sometimes be daunting as I’m attracted to all things colourful. Like a magpie I zoom in on anything that’s bright or shines. My mind will wonder and images of combined colours and random objects plague me until I unleash the image on paper or canvas. While I love that this is the way I create, the process can be exhausting leaving me sleepless for days until I’ve made the effort to share my views with the world. Allowing these thoughts and feelings to free-flow is how I work. My translations are colourful and contemporary. I consider my work a celebration of dreams and life.
Robyn ROBERTSON
Inspired to paint by things that touch my heart. Esp things related to serious eternal issues and things that effect NZ people.

- Pink Noise Open Art Zine and Artists Listing
Pink Noise is a multi-level artist promotional project.
A place to show your work and let everyone know where to find you online. It is also a developing artist resource, to make all those interesting places out there easily accessible.
Essentially an Artist Directory, but with the added twist of close collaboration with an Art Zine. This interactive element sets it apart from the average artist listing!!
The philosophy behind Pink Noise is that in sharing around Pink Noise to others, you are a) promoting yourself and b) promoting everyone else that is involved as well.
. . . . And if everyone does it, we all help each other out! It’s a wonderous and simple plan and I love it!
No need to sign up for any new passwords or anything like that, just fill out this form. I will put up your listing and contact you when there is a new zine being put together to see if you have anything to contribute. . .
