Amy Bowie is a singer-songwriter-actress from Christchurch, New Zealand, who has recently been writing under the pseudonym “Amie”. Under this name, she has a popular YouTube channel that has grown to over 169,000 hits, with one song gaining over 156,000 of those hits alone, complete with its own UK fan-made video that has over 10,000 hits.

Under her own name, Amy has numerous TV, radio and public appearances to her credit, including multiple appearances as a soloist to crowds of up to 120,000 people in numerous outdoor concerts including last year’s 'Coca Cola Christmas In The Park', and ASB Starry Nights with The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

As a winner of the APRA section of the NZ Olympics Committee and Play It Strange's Anthem In Black Songwriting Competition, a duet Amy wrote - The Emotion, has been released this month on the Official NZ Olympics CD: Anthem In Black. This will be promoted widely in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, and is competing along with all the other Anthem In Black songs for the title of the Official NZ song of the games. In 2005 Amy found her way on to the New Zealand Music Radar after success in the nationally televised demo competition 'TV2 SongStar' which saw former Split-Enz-er Mike Chunn, Carly Binding and Jordan Luck select one of her songs to be produced and receive nationwide radio airplay. Going on to record with Victoria Kelly and Joost Langeveld (Strawpeople) her single, 'Stupid Nothing Song' was the only song from 'SongStar' to be immediately re-released on NZ On Air's subsequent Kiwi Hit Disc.

In addition to completing a University honours degree in Theatre and Film in 2010, Amy, who has trained in both Classical and Jazz singing, performed regularly with NZ Jazz piano legend Doug Caldwell as a resident artist at Octagon Live Restaurant, before going on to perform the lead role of “Johanna” in Showbiz Christchurch’s season of the Stephen Sondheim musical “Sweeney Todd” at the Isaac Theatre Royal.

This year sees her focus more on developing her music, particularly online. Amy is currently available as a duo for gigs, for live performance and as a session or backing vocalist.
