Roman Military Standard & Imagio

Every Legion carried a Military Standard with them wherever they marched with the image of the ruling Emperor (Imagio), to signyfy the armies authority to conquer in his divine name.......Caesar Augustus
The Standard was so important to the army, that to lose it is battle was a disgrace & would eventually lead to the particular legion in question to be disbanded & it soldiers to be divided up amonst the other legions which at this point in time numbered 30 Legions in total, each consisting of up to 1600 men....
