Hopes for the Future
Science and spectatorship are two different yet strongly persuasive forms of exploration which are vigorously employed in the daily search for answers and meanings in life. While they are different in practice the result of using either method of exploration is the inevitable lifting of objects and events outside of their original context. It is this contextual readjustment that Hopes for the Future addresses. Can this type of severing produce understanding or are science and spectatorship merely faulty modes of examination. Using a deep rectangular hole which is a traditionally recognised grave motif, an often unseen and unconsidered object despite its familiarity, Hopes for the Future offers up a version of the depths we may encounter upon our demise for closer study.
