Age and Time; Hand and feather

Lockets; sentimental keepsakes. Worn close, they hold memories. Seasons change, we age and time passes. Stories are created and retold, places are visited and objects collected that evoke nostalgia. Senses trigger recollection, traditions pass between generations like heirlooms.

We were invited to a hat party so decided to go as Native American Indians. We collected feathers the week before to use for our head-dresses.

When it came time to make them, carefully sewing each onto a shoelace we wished we’d found more.

For weeks after I found feathers everywhere.
