"Here be Dragons"
Recently completed at the Matamata Sculpture Symposium 2010, "Here be Dragons" is a sculpture motivated by the fantastic and unreal. An immediately recognisable image, enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Hinuera stone is a volcanic ignembrite of varying consistency. It is usually a honey coloured rock, often with very pale sections streaked with rust coloured smokey patterns. Due to its high silica content, appropriate safety gear is required to be used when working this medium.
