Wuru Wai - Tauranga's first knit graffiti

Tauranga's first knit graffiti - at day
before installation

It was our first attempt to create a new focus on public art and its perception. We consciously chose an already existing piece of public art, a fountain in this case and added our 'tag' made from pre-loved and re-cycled wool.

After a long time of thinking about it, we finally decided to bring the world of yarn bombing, knit grafitti, guerilla knitting or whatever people might call it to Tauranga, New Zealand.
We're inspired by all those wonderful like-minded craftivists out there who have been gently tagging away. Turning craft that some might think of as near exstinct into street art.
Crafts are alive. And now they're kicking their way into the streets of Tauranga.

    Warm and woolly regards,

    your Craft Bomber Association
