Meet Doll Artist, Painter & creative extraordinaire Jo Carter who's contemporary, figurative pieces exude character, humour & often reflect Jo's tendency to dip her toes into the world of fantasy...
For as long as I can remember, I have been constantly driven by the creative addiction. This has lead me on many adventures including painting, sewing, costuming, textile arts, sculpting & for the past 16 years Doll Artistry.
Each Doll is hand sculpted, painted & then costumed. I create the wigs, shoes & accessories & then give them individual names before sending them off to their new homes. I predominantly work with Polymer & most of my Dolls are One of a kind with a touch of fantasy & a whole lot of character :)
I have exhibited my work in New Zealand & U.S.A, with my Dolls now living in many different countries.
