The Vortrovia Centre Project

In the latter half of last year, 2011, a visionary plan to establish a sustainable local enclave
featuring a small scale Model Eco-City, which has been evolving under various guises for nearly two decades, was renamed and launched in Christchurch N.Z. as the Vortrovia Vision.
The journey toward gradually realizing this vision, will firstly involve acquiring a suitable
location within which to develop and construct on an island, in a circular lake, a Cultural - Arts Centre Complex called the Mount Vortrovia Centre. When completed this habitable self -
contained complex, will become a functioning Cultural Centre & Tourist Attraction, as well as serving the role of the focal point & wellspring of this Eco-city Realm.

In order to further these aims, it was also decided to create a vehicle for this purpose called the Vortrovia Centre Project. The initial role of the V.C.P. and those interested in participating in developing & furthering the aims, ideals & designs of the Vortrovia Vision, will be to raise
public awareness of this vision, generate resources & generally contribute to progressing the
realization process.

This inspired vision originated and continues to unfold, in the imaginative highlands of the mind of a Christchurch Artist - Director - Activist called John Ravenso, who sometimes theatrically performs the role of Count Vortrov the First, Paramount Steward of the Federal Kingdom of Vortrovia.

The Vortrov Centre Project has emerged from a visionary
Eco-City urban design concept, and sustainable autonomous homeland vision, which has been evolving in various incarnations, for nearly two decades.
The main aim of the VCP is to progress the establishment and realization of a unique symbolically designed, 21st centaury Spiritual - Cultural - Eco Tech - Arts Centre complex to be called the Mount Vortrovia Centre. When sustainably constructed and functional this built and natural environment will become the wellspring & revolutionary centrepiece of an mandala shaped
eco-city composed of twelve villages, which would eventually encircle it.
