Courting History, 2008

A young man hold out a flower to a young woman. He appears within a mirror, on whiched is perched a female Huia bird.The young woman holds tags that have been stolen from a stuffed male Huia bird.

I am fascinated by old edwardian style family photos, family
trees and the scientific ramifications of genetic links within
families. My artwork is an exploration of the animal/human connection,
genetically, spiritually and instinctively. Mainly between humans and
indigenous bird species of New Zealand.
