Topography of Genesis

My paintings "Topography of Genesis" engage in a religious and scientific understanding and reasoning about the process of evolution. My ideas are drawn from the aspects of the theory of Evolution by natural selection proposed by Charles Darwin, the big bang theory proposed by Stephen Hawking and the religious creation of life. My research is about exploring the possibilities to identify the links within the Theory of Evolution and that which is based on belief and faith. Each theory as we know has a connecting part to the other theory of evolution in more than one ways.Elements of life are portrayed and juxtaposed with marks that are identified in the form of symbols and representations in my work. Sensory perceptions and their associated tactility are explored in terms of medium and techniques used.

All works are Acrylic on Canvas, 50X50 inches

Some of these paintings are done at the Henry Luce III Arts and Religion Centre, Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington DC, USA. These works were parallely exhibited in Tamarind Gallery in New York in Dec 2007. While some of these are done here in New Zealand and the rest while I was in North East Africa.eck the blog please
