camelias
Camelias picked from a garden in Sydney, August 2009.
Camelia blooms fade and shed their petals as soon as they are picked so you have to work fast.
These had a luscious pink hue which I hope comes out in the picture.
watercolour and pencil on Saunders Waterford paper

Born and raised in Auckland, I have been an exhibiting artist since 1987, working from NZ, the UK and Australia where these days I call Sydney home. Originally trained in ceramics, I now work in paper, fabric and beads though I like to think my love of colour and shape is evident in current work.
Like most artists I have a day job, my studio is the kitchen table but I still dream.
