Lara KayI was born and raised in the south west of England, where I obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Photography from Falmouth College of Arts.
Soon after graduating, I was approached by Gallery 2 C, a contemporary photographers gallery in the UK, where I am currently represented. I have exhibited my photographs in various locations in the UK and New Zealand, where I now live.
In 2004, I won the Thomas Gowar Award from the British Institute of Professional Photography, in recognition of my portfolio and ambitions to travel to Ecuador to share my knowledge and skills in photography with street children.
My photographs have always been inspired by the landscape and nature that surrounds me. I consider photography to be an important medium for communicating my ideas and concepts to others, a way of
expressing and sharing my passion for the natural world.
