Grannies Bay, Long Bay, Auckland

I have been drawing and painting for about 10 years, but have discovered pastels only in the last couple of years after attending classes at the Mairangi Art Centre. I am very enthusiastic about pastels – their freshness, colour range and compatibility with my style. In New Zealand I am a member of the Depot, Estuary Arts and the Mairangi Art Centre. I have exhibited with these galleries, at the Royal Easter Show, at Northcote College and Carmel College, the Bruce Mason Centre, Kumeu Art in the Garden, Fine Arts Academy (Wellington) and the Great Art Sale. In May 2009, I had a very successful solo exhibition of my landscapes at the Small Dog Gallery in Devonport and at the Lake House gallery at Takapuna in July 2010. I am a member of the NZ Pastel Art Society and the NZ Art Guild. I work as a librarian and freelance editor so pastel painting fills my leisure hours but it is a passion and a pleasure.
