German Film Festival NZ - Andreas Dresen on his visit in New Zealand

2009 marks twenty years since the fall of the wall. The German Film Festival brought twenty films from the past two decades to cinemagoers in New Zealand, 19 000 kilometres away. 20 years and 20 films – entertaining and thrilling and at the same time witnesses to the momentous historic change after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Andreas Dresen is one of the most successful directors of recent German cinema and a filmmaker of reunification par excellence. His features have won him several awards such as his drama 'Cloud 9' which won the German Film Prize 2009 for best director as well as the Film Prize in Bronze.
