.............................................................................................................. .......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... ROY G & the BIVinators is a project driven by Maz Hermon, a Whangarei born musician now living in Wellington. Described by Maz as 'a joyous musical project that aims to make you shake it on the dance floor', the BIVinators sound has something for everyone.
Get together with your community at a ROY G and the BIVinators live show and celebrate the collective universal family.
The sound can be described as a blend of folk , ska , roots , rock , reggae , pop , funk , and soul, with positivity being the only constant. This music appeals to a wide range of ages, cultures, and music appreciators.
The Debut EP ‘For the pEoPle’ (2008) and the full length album ‘The Rainbow Throw’ (in stores Jan 11th 2010) were recorded and mixed by Maz at ROY G Records. Both releases continue to receive much positive feedback and airplay.
During the last two years ROY G and the BIVinators have appeared as a 3 - 7 piece band at various festivals and events including the Parihaka International Peace Festival in Taranaki (the most culturally significant festival in Aotearoa New Zealand) the Newtown Festival in Wellington, The Wellington Botanical Gardens Sound Shell, The New Dowse, as well as many other small venue gigs around Aotearoa New Zealand.
Maz is a songwritter, musician and producer focusing on Guitar, Vocals, and Trombone. He has spent time learning about music early on as lead trombonist in the Whangarei Youth Music Concert band, and later at the New Zealand School of Music studying Jazz performance on the trombone. He now focuses on taking his original music to the people through both recording and live shows under the name ROY G &the BIVinators.
Keep an eye and an ear out for ROY G &the BIVinators, a joyous musical project on the rise.
