Send Cleo on Little Lotus Project

Hello everyone! This is something I want to share with you all:

Before we head over to Thailand for Little Lotus Part 2 my goal is to raise $3,000. This money will go towards my costs (approximately $2,000) and the rest to the Little Lotus fund raising pool. To donate, simply click on the button below:

https://www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/Send_Cleo_On_Little_Lotus

Anyone over the age of 18 and who lives in New Zealand that donates $20 or more from now until the end of October goes in the draw to win a case of Lothlorien Feijoa Wine, valued at $160.

So $40 gives you 2 chances of winning, $60 three….

Little Lotus is a collaborative art project links 12 International artists with refugee children on the Thai/Burma border in a little town called Mea Sot. We will visit SpinningTop sponsored schools, working… with the children on a variety of art projects including art classes, murals and paint parties. The artworks created by the kids will then be given to artists both on this trip and back home in LA and NZ for them to add their layers to the works. The final art works will be for sale at an art exhibition back home in Auckland and LA, providing the bulk of our fund raising.

Funds that are raised from Little Lotus Pt 2 will go towards the ongoing welfare and education of all the children in the SpinningTop sponsored schools. Last year the Spinning Top organization only did one art show in Wellington and raised around $30k for the kids back in Mae Sot….imagine what we can do with two art shows, more artists plus the music component that will be adding to the mix this year. Leon Dalton will be recording sounds from our trip and musicians from NZ and USA will record with these sounds to create a CD you can buy and download online.

The really special thing about this organization is the people behind it. My first time meeting Shelly and Pat, I new straight away that they were people I wanted to work with and I really believe in what they are doing. On top of the great people, The Body Shop NZ generously supports the Spinning Top Organization admin costs, so all of the profits made from fund raising goes straight to the schools in Mae Sot. Visit http://spinningtop.org/ for more information on finances and such.
