Pack of Girls - first team meeting

Black Box Theatre

Oranges, check ... coffee, check .... nerves, triple check

Enter 'Lucy' ... she may live in Kaihu, but in her heart she walks the streets of Dargaville!

and so the first team meeting begins ...

Watching the dynamics of the team was inspirational, they are all just so incredibly different yet it never ceases to amaze me how theatre can bring so many people together from all backgrounds and yet when we get into a theatre we are all one, we are a team, all striving for the same goal.

Tonight the cast and crew - 'Head Coach' (Tim Eves) and 'Team Manager' (Jess Loftus) got together for our first meet and greet and read through of the script.  Tim our Head Coach with his background in national and international rugby has been brought into the fold for a very exciting reason.  Tim explained to the team tonight how he saw many similarities between a sports team and a cast and how he wanted to explore that some more and Pack of Girls gives him a great opportunity to do that.  Tim, from the beginning has changed our terminology and will be forever picking us up on it I'm sure!

eg

cast = squad
crew = brains trust (????)
script = playbook
stage = pitch
rehearsal = training
show day = game day

I sure have my work cut out for me.

Next team training is on the rugby field .... watch this space
