Pack of Girls - A Real Crack Up
With ten minutes to go today till the end of rehearsal we reached a moment of sheer brilliance! I haven't laughed so much in such a long time and I can't wait to see the audiences reaction to this one.
One of the greatest things I love about theatre is those small 'moments' that just pop out of nowhere, the creation of magic when working with actors who are so open to accepting and trying new things - priceless!
I love playing .... and thank god my actors love it too!
Rehearsals are going great guns and we have just been to see Raising the Titanics in Dargaville and Whangarei and its really highlighted for me the need to work on my set! Titanics had great depth and height in theirs and it's something that we're really missing right now. I'm putting my trust in the process that this will come (as well as getting some key eyes to come watch the rehearsals). The crates are certainly working really well though (thanks Lion Breweries!) and it's great to see the imagery that comes from playing with these. I've never been a fan of sliding sets on and off the stage so it's going to be great to see what else we can come up with for our set.
Always open to suggestions!
Hoping that our photos come through this week from our photo shoot then we can get the posters out there and start our crazy marketing campaign. We did Grab One this week and worked an absolutely treat!
Time to put my 'set thinking' cap back on and start meditation ...
