Inside Work: Spread your wings

Auckland Festival
Asia New Zealand Foundation

Not that we want to encourage creative flight, but often there are amazing opportunities off-shore and we get asked 'where could I look?'

So, in our little black book are these sites:

In Australia you can join artshub, the loop offers interesting jobs. Make sure you are eligible to work in Australia

In the USA Americans for the Arts matches employers and job seekers. The British Council in the USA has a great list of resources. The American Institute of Graphic Arts is another place to look and then there's America's Job Exchange. Visa and eligibility information should be checked before you even begin.

As for the United Kingdom, you can join artshub here as well, The Arts Council have job listings and a facebook app you can download and there's arts job finder. Again there's that migration requirement - here's a place to start.

And here are some great vacancies we found on-shore in The Big Idea work-section recently:

- City Gallery Wellington is seeking a part-time Gallery Educator Maori who is interested in teaching art to Maori students

- Do you have what it takes to be a Rock 'n Roll Dance Tutor? Artz on Show run Performing Arts Workshops during school holidays, and are looking forward to your application

- The James Wallace Trust needs someone to manage the financial and accounting side of the large Arts Trust Organisation

 - The Asia New Zealand Foundation is offering a Kiwi Asian Journalism Scholarship as a way of attracting more Asian New Zealanders into journalism

- Are you interested in helping to promote the next Auckland Festival? Then the role as Assistant Publicist could be the right choice for you
