Inside Work: A way with words

• Senior Editor – NO Magazine is looking for a talented editor to join their small but highly creative team. You will be an experienced journalist, preferably at senior level, with strong writing and editing skills. You will be personable and able to inspire a team of talented writers to submit their stories within brief and within deadline. You will have a pedantic interest in words, grammar and dangling participles.


• Writer/Historian – Manatu Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage is working on Te Ara - the Encyclopedia of New Zealand which is being published on the world wide web. Te Ara seeks applications for a writer for a fixed term of 18 months, with the possibility of an extension to 2 years, for the project. The writer will prepare and check accurate and lively entries, presented in a way which captures the imagination of a wide range of users.


• Promotions and Publicity Manager – Radio One 91fm, Dunedin, is looking for the right person to devise and co-ordinate on-air promotional campaigns to run efficiently and reflect the personality of Radio One and maximise all appropriate promotions and publicity opportunities for Radio One in the wider community through media and events.


• Regional Journalist – Radio New Zealand is looking for a talented journalist for its Dunedin office who has the experience to step up to a sole charge role. You will be an experienced journalist, preferably at senior level, with a strong broadcast quality voice who is highly capable of investigating, writing and editing news items and extended programme pieces.


• Production Editor – The Northern Advocate is seeking a production editor - preferably with a sub-editing background - for its busy Whangarei newsroom. This is a management position in which you will be assuming responsibility for staff and the paper.
