Writer/Editor - Te Papa’s writing team is responsible for engaging the Museum’s diverse local and international audiences by creating text for exhibitions, events, and the website. They need an experienced writer/editor to join their close-knit, committed team.

NZSA Beatson Fellowship - Applications are now being called for the 2011/2012 NZSA Beatson Fellowship which provides the successful applicant with $7000 and the option of one month’s residency in the Beatsons’ holiday house at Foxton Beach.

Media Grants and Funding- Each year, through its Media Travel Grants, the Asia:NZ media programme offers New Zealand journalists the chance to travel to Asia to research and prepare stories.

2011 Manhire Prize - You are invited to write about chemistry and our world for the 2011 Royal Society of New Zealand Manhire Prize for Creative Science Writing. The length of your piece should be between 1000 and 2500 words. There are two categories, fiction and non-fiction.

Non-fiction Writing Competition - Cultural Icons & the Vernacular Lounge are accepting entries for ‘Iconic Encounters of a Vernacular Kind’ a non-fiction narrative competition on the topic of New Zealand’s distinctive local culture through its everyday icons.

Special offer for aspirant writers - To launch its Literary Short and Flash Fiction Course, NZ Writers College are offering the first module free, including free feedback on the first assignment (a 1500-word short story) from the course tutor, multi-award-winning New Zealand author Charlotte Randall.
