Inside Work: Music and Sound

• Music Director – Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand is seeking an individual with a proven experience in choral conducting, in working with young people and with an interest in furthering choral music in New Zealand. The Music Director will be responsible for the further development of the Youth Choir and will become an important member of the music staff.


• Music Director – Orpheus Choir of Wellington requires a Music Director from late 2011. Orpheus is a symphonic choir of over 100 auditioned voices. We perform regularly at major Wellington music venues with highly regarded musicians and soloists – international and local.


• Composer in Residence – Auckland Youth Orchestra is seeking expressions of interest for the position of its Composer in Residence for the 2011 season. There is no age limit for this residency. This is an exciting opportunity for a New Zealand composer to have their work performed by a symphony orchestra in New Zealand and overseas. In August 2011, the orchestra will be touring to Europe and performing at the Young Euro Classic Festival in Berlin.


• Creative producer/programmer – Wanted for commercial, alternative pop (think Florence and the Machine) recording project. Looking for someone who can develop demo tracks to a fully matured sound ready for release, input own ideas and stick to a brief and timeline.


• Audio Post Production, Sound Design – We require sound design on our feature film (88min). This role will include EQing dialogue tracks, adding in foley, sound mixing and leveling. Job needs to be completed within approx a week of commencement. Approx 25-30 hrs. Ready to start ASAP.
