Exhibition design coordinator
Design and coordinate the installations of the exhibitions programmed in 2010 at the new gallery.
Fixed term to October 2010.
The purpose of this role is to design and coordinate the installations of the exhibitions programmed in 2010 at the new gallery, including The fourth Auckland Triennial and The Walters Prize exhibitions. Also, you will assist the permanent Exhibitions Designer and Coordinator with the planning of selected projects and the design of the collection displays to be installed in the redeveloped main art gallery building when it reopens in 2011.
Through your previous design experience you will have demonstrated abilities in spatial and graphic design. An appreciation of contemporary art projects and a knowledge of audio visual technology is highly desirable, as is experience in using computer aided design technologies.
You will become part of a small and supportive team, giving you the opportunity to contribute to the gallery's exhibition programme. Talented with an understanding of creative problem solving and project management, you have the ability to be self-directed to meet objectives and achieve results within deadlines.
This is a fixed-term role, until 29 October 2010 and requires some flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours. A current driver's licence is essential, preferably with ability to drive a manual delivery van or utility vehicle.
