Producers Workshop with Lauren Hughes
BANANA BOAT PRODUCERS WORKSHOPS
The Banana Boat Writers Group, in association with Playmarket, The EDGE and
Creative New Zealand, are proud to announce that submissions are now welcome
for places on a two-day workshop on producing for theatre, answering basic
questions of who, what, where and when (the why of producing is between you and
your therapist).
The workshop is being run by Red Leap Theatre producer Lauren Hughes, and will
take place over two Saturdays - Saturday 10 April 2010 and Saturday 17 April
2010. Each day will start at 9:30am and finish at 4:00pm. The venue is Upper NZI
Room, Aotea Centre, The EDGE.
The cost of registration is $20.00 per person for the entire workshop.

This workshop is aimed at Maori , Paciifc and Asian theatre practioners.
The workshops are already heavily subsidised. Food and drink are provided.
Places are strictly limited to 25 people, and are on a first-in, first-served basis.

Jenni is the Maori and Pacific Island Playwright Development Coordinator for Playmarket. She also freelances in theatre production, and on the odd occasion does a bit of acting. She has fifteen years experience within television, film, theatre, festivals and museums, both nationally and internationally.
Jenni is a passionate advocate for creating and developing new Maori and Pasifika theatre, both in productions and in opportunities for practitioners. As a freelance producer, she has worked with Loud & Brown Limited and Kila Kokonut Krew. She is also one of the coordinators of the Banana Boat Writers group, which meets on the fourth Thursday of every month.The BANANA BOAT is a loose collective of Pasifika writers who meet once a month in Grey Lynn, Auckland.
