Two Year Fixed Term Contract

The purpose of this position is to assist the Manager, art and access programmes and members of the group in the planning, development and implementation of the Gallery's temporary exhibition and collection display programmes. The assistant curator/project coordinator will assist with research, display and interpretation of the collection exhibitions and coordinate the critical path planning and project management of specific temporary and collection based exhibitions and artist commissions from initial concept to the realisation of an exhibition.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and dynamic team. You will work closely with the gallery project coordinator, exhibitions and curators on a variety of projects spanning from the historical to contemporary.

You will have a tertiary qualification or equivalent in visual arts or museum management, proven exhibition project management skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills. As the projects will require a great deal of collaboration, you will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work with a team using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication to gain acceptance and buy-in from individuals.
