Zinefest Volunteers/Zine Librarians

Auckland Zinefest is a non-profit community event that celebrates and promotes DIY and self publishing in Auckland city. This year's event will be held at St Kevins Arcade and Wine Cellar, on Saturday 14th August.

We are looking for 5-10  people interested in offering us a couple of hours throughout the day. Zinefest runs from 11am - 4pm, and we are looking for people to help us out during this time.

There are two separate duties which we need volunteers for:

Manning the official Zinefest stall
This includes sitting on the table, handing out the Zinefest program/zine, selling merchandise and assisting people on the day with relevant information, if asked (where things will be happening, what times etc etc).

Acting as 'Zine Librarians' in the reading library area
This involves sitting in the reading area, and assisting people when necessary on choosing what to read, returning zines to the stands if left lying about. For this position, it would be preferable if you have a love and knowledge of zines, and would feel comfortable giving your opinion and guidance to others.

We are only asking 1-2 hours per person, so that you are free to wander around and enjoy the rest of the day's festivities. This time could be split up between an hour at each station, or just one hour at either station. We are open to friends helping out in teams.

All volunteers will be gifted goody-bags for their efforts, as we really do appreciate the help, but unfortunately can't repay this in monetary form.
