Senior Librarian
One of four Senior Librarian positions playing a central role in leading the delivery and development of quality professional library services to the residents of Timaru District.
The major focus of this position is on the provision of information and reference services. You will have overall responsibility for cataloguing, be involved in the provision of public programmes which fulfil the libraries' reference and information goals, and the ongoing staff development programme.
To succeed in this challenging but rewarding role you will have recent experience in the provision of reference and information services meeting the needs of today's library users, cataloguing experience and skills to the high level required by a medium-sized public library network, the knowledge and flair to deliver public programmes as well as advice, support and training to staff, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Public library experience, a library qualification and LIANZA professional registration are minimum requirements.
