The Hepatitis Foundation of New Zealand is a non-profit national organisation whose mission is to promote positive health outcomes through education and research into viral hepatitis. It offers support and follow-up for people living with chronic hepatitis B and C throughout New Zealand.

From 2012, The Foundation is being funded by the Ministry of Health to pilot and implement a national programme to improve the health services for those living with hepatitis C.

We are looking to employ a team of highly skilled professionals, based in our newly established office in Tauranga, who will deliver this innovative programme.

Media Publications Officer

Your role will involve:

  • Writing and editing articles for online and print media
  • Editing a small quarterly publication for those with hepatitis C
  • Maintaining The Foundation’s online presence and web page content
  • Creating and maintaining a brand for the programme
  • Developing and producing a range of media products
  • Contributing to the development of an extensive media campaign for hepatitis C testing

In applying you will:

  • Be self-motivated, and able to manage this key responsibility for the team
  • Be capable of writing and producing outstanding articles and educational resources
  • Be creative and able to design and update web page content and formats
  • Have desktop and website publishing experience
  • Ideally have some journalistic, health, educational, or IT qualifications and experience (any an advantage)
