The Film Archive is seeking expressions of interest for a 2012 Curator at Large, based in Wellington, to explore its collections and create four gallery shows.

The focus for the 2012 Curator at Large will be Contemporary Art.

The Archive holds an extensive collection of film and video art and has a strong relationship with contemporary artists. We envisage that in 2012 the Curator at Large will work with both the Archiveʼs collection and with local New Zealand artists to produce a series of exhibitions to develop an audience and increase knowledge of, and appreciation for, this area of the collection.

Key skills sought:

The Curator at Large will have sufficient subject expertise to present selected material in a rich contextural manner.
