Description:

Paramount Pictures NZ is looking to employ a marketing, promotions and publicity assistant to cover maternity leave. The role requires experience in consumer marketing, promotions, advertising and promotions in an entertainment-based industry. In consultation with the management team you will be responsible for the creation, implementation and ongoing development of marketing plans across a variety of film releases. The final candidate will be hard working and possess excellent communication skills, be a high energy, intelligent professional who thrives in a challenging, entrepreneurial, fast-paced, dynamic environment. Further, the individual will have a reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and common sense. You must have an interest in film but more importantly the ability to distinguish between the creative process and the business end of film marketing.

 

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • maintaining and building contacts with the media;
  • developing advertising opportunities, which can involve placing advertising in national, regional and specialist publications, TV , radio online, outdoor (depending on the campaign);
  • creation and distributing press releases;
  • managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters and flyers - this can involve writing and proofreading copy and liaising with designers and printers;
  • arranging for the effective distribution of marketing materials;
  • maintaining and updating mailing databases;
  • organizing and attending events;
  • evaluating marketing campaigns;
  • monitoring competitor activity;
  • contributing to and developing long-term marketing plans and strategies;
  • assisting in the delivery of approved strategies;
  • managing budgets;
  • supporting the marketing manager and other colleagues.

    Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor degree as a minimum qualification.  Ideally a minimum of 5 years of entertainment industry experience would be desirable.
