The Live Day Coordinator brings willing volunteers, paid professionals together once a month to create an exciting bustling event at the Howick Historical Village a Living Museum.

Fun themed events with a strong heritage focus which engage and enrich visitors need to be organised -  full training and assistance will be given.

You may have an interest in history or museums but you will be a great organiser, energetic and an excellent communicator.

Part of this job is administration: booking entertainment groups, promotion, rostering volunteers prior to the event and the other part is being on site, in Victorian costume, organising everyone on the Live Day.

This part time position is a great entry (or return!) to events management esepcially in the museum or tourism industry. Currently envisaged as a 40 hour per month position,weekend work is required as the Live day falls on the third Sunday of every month (except December).

    Howick Historical Village

    Howick Historical Village is an open air museum with 30 heritage buildings furnished with decor and displays highlighting the fencible period of 1840-1880. Costumed villagers are present on Live Days (every third Sunday of the month) and engage in Victorian crafts and pastimes.
    Museum staff care for the artefacts which have been donated by the community and range from fabulous Victorian clothing, to military campaign desks with a focus on authentic domestic items. An archive, library and art collection can be researched by appointment. www.fencible.org.nz
