Arts Waikato’s primary focus is to support and promote development of the arts throughout the greater Waikato region. Reporting to the Trust Board, the Chief Executive’s (CEO) primary focus will be to support the Trust with the development and implementation of its strategic plan, with key priorities being capacity building, increased participation in the arts and the obtaining of ongoing funding. Team leadership and the development of staff will be an important aspect of the role.

Key attributes sought for the position include proven leadership in a senior management role, with skills in effective strategy development and implementation, marketing, financial and business management. The ability to consistently obtain funding will be an essential requirement for the position. Well developed staff management and leadership skills, and presentation/ communication skills are essential.

A working knowledge of, or interest in, the community arts and not for profit sectors and experience in partnering with iwi, community and business groups is essential. You will also need to be a creative thinker, self-driven and be able to deliver agreed results.

This position, which is based in Hamilton, will appeal to an arts oriented senior manager wanting a challenging high profile community leadership role.
