Job description: 
The Ministry for Culture and Heritage’s role is to help make our culture visible and accessible. It is responsible for providing advice to the New Zealand government on cultural matters. It assists government in its provision and management of cultural resources for the benefit of all New Zealanders by funding a range of cultural agencies, and through the direct delivery of various cultural and heritage products and services. The Ministry’s Broadcasting Unit is a small specialist team providing advice and support to government on its interests in the fast-changing broadcasting sector.    It also advises the Minister of Broadcasting on the performance of a range of Crown entities and other directly-funded organisations, and assists the Minister in managing the government’s relationships with these agencies. We are looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and energetic adviser to join our team on a permanent, full time basis and who can:  · provide high quality advice to Ministers on broadcasting agency performance, risks, Budget submissions and emerging issues · undertake sector and stakeholder research · build positive relationships with the boards and management of the agencies, and the Minister’s office · understand agencies’ strategic and operational issues and give proactive support and advice. You will be sensitive to the political environment; have a high degree of initiative and self motivation; strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
