This key position will manage and deliver high-profile, long-term exhibition projects at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

This position requires proven senior project management experience and successful track record in the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects on time and to budget.  To be successful in the role you will manage all aspects of project management and procurement; including multiple delivery teams, external contractors, and as well as diverse stakeholder relationships, to ensure that exhibitions and products are delivered within Te Papa’s standards, policies and guidelines and visitor experience and satisfaction targets.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • 10 plus years experience in delivery of complex projects
  • An ability to build relationships at all levels, internal and external to Te Papa
  • Recent experience of government procurement practices, including external supplier / contractor management
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Experience in development of exhibitions and/or projects with iwi and other community groups is desirable.

This is a fixed-term position for three years.
