The Theatre Royal in Nelson is in the final stages of a $6 million refit and is due to open on May 31 2010.

This is an exciting time to join the team at the Theatre Royal and make a significant contribution towards presenting a fully restored theatre to Nelson and Tasman offering a showcase of the best local work, and national & international touring shows to the people & visitors of the region.

The Nelson Historic Theatre Trust manages the Theatre Royal. The Trust is seeking applicants for the following position:

Theatre Manager (30 hours per week)

Essential Attributes for the position:

Experience within the performing arts sector
Proven ability with budgeting & financial skills
Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication abilities
Proven ability to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines

Preferred attributes:

Experience with fundraising
Experience with marketing for the performing arts
