Greenpeace New Zealand is seeking a communication and media specialist to join our innovative and creative communications team.
Responsibilities include ensuring that our campaigns and organisation are effectively communicated to the media and public using a full range of professional and integrated communications and media strategies, writing and editing press releases and publications, and liaising with and building media relationships.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED - please note that only candidates who fulfill ALL of the criteria below will be considered:
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience (within the last three years) in journalism, or as an editor, or in the fields of media relations or communications, in New Zealand.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, editing, design, and content management skills and experience.
- Ability to work under intense pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrable understanding of social change marketing and media communications theory and practices.
- A good understanding of how New Zealand media operates is essential.
- Strategic and creative thinker who can follow through to implementation.
- Assertive communicator with good listening skills.
This is a permanent, full-time position, starting salary is $52,785 per annum, and start date is as soon as possible.
