An opportunity has arisen at the Howick Historical Society for a highly motivated person to drive the development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies for achieving ambitious targets for visitor admissions and revenue growth. 

 Howick Historical Village is a highly regarded living museum and has become a  worthy attraction for Manukau City and the greater Auckland area.

 The successful applicant will have a proven sales and marketing background with experience in the tourism industry would be useful. Experience in establishing linkages for business sponsorship arrangements would be advantage.

 You’ll have excellent written and oral communication skills, an outgoing personality and a love for history.  In addition to working with the media, you will also have a strong affinity with and understanding of web based communication.

 This is a part time role and there will be some flexibility in working hours.

    Howick Historical Village

    Howick Historical Village is an open air museum with 30 heritage buildings furnished with decor and displays highlighting the fencible period of 1840-1880. Costumed villagers are present on Live Days (every third Sunday of the month) and engage in Victorian crafts and pastimes.
    Museum staff care for the artefacts which have been donated by the community and range from fabulous Victorian clothing, to military campaign desks with a focus on authentic domestic items. An archive, library and art collection can be researched by appointment. www.fencible.org.nz
