Duty Manager
An exciting opportunity exists at Auckland Museum Tamaki Paenga Hira for an exceptional Visitor Service Duty Manager with energy, attention to detail, initiative, leadership and enthusiasm.
Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager the Duty Manager is the champion for customer service in the Museum and leads the Visitor Host team that delivers services to over half a million Museum visitors every year.
Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, the Duty Manager is a champion of customer service at Auckland Museum. As one of two Duty Managers, they are responsible for co-leading the Visitor Host team that delivers Museum services to over half a million visitors every year.
They are in charge of overseeing the Museum’s daily front-of-house operations and seamless coordination of daily rosters and associated duties. Ensuring that visitors are greeted by knowledgeable, courteous and well presented staff, the Duty Managers conduct training programmes to support the delivery of core Visitor Host services. The Duty Managers are responsible for all elements of Customer Service, Safety and Security during Museum opening hours and must be able to demonstrate leadership and sound judgement in all situations.
• Tertiary qualification in hospitality services or similar relevant field.
• Five years of team management, and/or customer service experience at a senior level.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, develop and motivate people.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively generate ideas to develop business opportunities and maximise sales.
