Job description:

APN NZ is looking for a new commercial leader for the Wairarapa Times-Age publishing group, based in Masterton. This is a great opportunity to lead a respected, quality daily newspaper in one of New Zealand's most pleasant regions.

Nestled on the Northern side of the Rimutaka Hill a short drive from Wellington, Masterton is a bustling town of 21,000. The region boasts panoramic landscapes dotted with historic and beautifully restored villages including Carterton, Greytown, Featherston and the vineyard town of Martinborough.

Wairarapa has a population of 39,000, a diverse, export led economy, good schools and excellent sporting facilities. The dramatic east coast offers some of New Zealands best fishing and diving.

Candidates for this role should have a strong media sales background, a proven ability to lead teams, a "can do" attitude and a strong desire to grow the business.

The Commercial Manager will also need to build a strong affinity with the Wairarapa community.

The Waiararapa Times-Age is part of the APN NZ Regionals group which compromises seven daily newspapers, 45 community titles and local websites.
