Auckland Regional Public Health Services

ARPHS delivers public health services on behalf of the three District Health Boards in the Auckland region. ARPHS is a fully integrated public health unit delivering promotion, protection and screening programmes designed to improve the health and well-being of the populations of the Auckland region.
 
The Communication and Information Coordinator will support the Communication Manager on all aspects of coordinating communication plans and implementation. The position will also support and implement publications for other public health educational projects, response and emergency projects, internal and external communiqués, distribution of information to stakeholders, and maintenance of all web resources, which includes providing written material where required for these. 

 

  • Develop and maintain a central communications and information data base system
  • Coordinate internal communications (e.g. Bush Telegraph, Nova notice boards), PR and media activities.
  • Support the Communications Manager and provide cover as required
  • Assist Communications Manager in writing press releases and communiqués
  • Assist with in-house media training as required
  • Provide support for events and launches
  • Coordinate, develop and maintain all web resources
  • Assist in compiling of health information for surveillance and analysis
  • Assist with proofreading and editing of reports etc.   

This is a permanent full time (Monday to Friday) vacancy.
 
The requirements for the position include: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Public Health.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in communications or public health.
  • Experience in coordinating media and communications projects
