For over 20 years the Performing Arts School of NZ has provided Auckland’s highly regarded recreational and pre-vocational courses in dance, acting, singing and circus arts from custom built premises at the Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC).
We are looking for a strategically focused person with demonstrated leadership skills to manage the day-to-day operations of the Performing Arts School, and to lead the continued growth and development of its reputable brand. As General Manager, you will report to the Chairman of the board and will be responsible for the strategic, operational and financial direction of the school.
The position has three direct reports with artistic, administration and accounts responsibilities. You will be required to lead the marketing and public relations activities and manage key stakeholder relationships, including liaison with the founding partners of TAPAC. Strength in financial management and accounting is essential.
The successful applicant will have a strong strategic focus, competent leadership and staff management abilities, knowledge and respect for the performing arts industry, ability to build and maintain relationships, and be an effective communicator.
Relevant qualifications and management experience are required, including leadership in strategic and business planning, marketing, financial management, budgeting and reporting.
This is a part-time position on 12-month contract.
