The Auckland War Memorial Museum is entering an exciting new era in terms of defining its future vision and strategy.

The primary focus of this role is delivering and marketing an integrated public programme strategy that underpins a world class museum experience. It includes end-to-end management of the programme of temporary exhibitions and public events from conceptualisation, business case, design development, project management, production, implementation and marketing.

Required skills and attributes are strong leadership, project management, creativity, strategic thinking, implementation and financial analysis skills. Proven capability in developing and marketing programmes and events to achieve visitor interest and engagement is essential.
 
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing large (35-40 people) multidisciplinary teams comprising creative, marketing, project and operations management functions. Excellent leadership and relationship management skills including proven experience as an effective executive team member is also required.
