Job description: 

The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, New Zealand’s leading contemporary art museum, is seeking an energetic communications professional with a passion for offering new and dynamic experiences for audiences in the realm of contemporary art.

You will be involved in:

  • Marketing the gallery, developing and growing its customer base and programmes, and delivering effective communication to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Implementing communications and marketing strategies.
  • Liaison with media, and coordinating local, national and international advertising.
  • Promotions and developing copy for the gallery’s new website.

To be ideal we require:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A minimum of two years’ work experience in journalism, communications or marketing.
  • Extensive experience in using online media as a communications tool.
  • Work experience in a related cultural organisation in the not-for-profit sector is preferred.

Competencies we require:

  • Extensive experience in writing, compiling and proofing information for a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience in building positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • High level of computer literacy (particularly in Microsoft Office software, databases, website technologies and image management software).
