Funding officer
To develop and implement a funding plan to diversify the organisations funding base and to be responsible for securing funding for both core services and special projects.
You will have:
A proven track record of successful arts (or ‘not for profit’) fundraising.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of the arts community in the Wellington region (and knowledge of Lower Hutt would be an advantage).
Experience of working with management of community groups, government organisations or the business sector.
Writing and communication skills.
Your own computer and internet research skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
With reference to HCC Community Arts & Culture Policy and HVCA contract with HCC;
1. Research possible sources of funding.
2. Advise HVCA Committee on possible projects that would be likely to receive funding from 3rd party sources, and get approval from HVCA governance Committee for these projects.
3. Preparation of funding applications.
4. Preparation of documentation required to support funding applications.
5. Administration of monies received from funders.
6. Collection of all receipts and documentation to support funding received.
7. Provision of required documentation to funders for audit purposes.
8. Writing reports as required by funders.
9. Set up and maintenance of database recording all applications made and funding received.
10. Liaising with funders as necessary.
Remuneration
Hourly rate to be discussed. Weekly KPI to be agreed.
Hours
Part Time: up to 10 hours p/week
You will be required to present to board meetings of the HVCA on some evenings, and to attend meetings at the Hutt Arts Hub. But it should be possible to do much of this work from your home on glide-time.
This will initially be a short-term contract, but if you are successful in acquiring new income streams for HVCA then a contract extension may be possible.
Ability to secure funding and sponsorship for community arts organisation.
