Gallery Administrator
The Blue Oyster Art Project Space exists to enable artists to work experimentally, free from commercial restraints, irrespective of the stage of their career. We aim to broaden the interest and understanding of contemporary arts by providing a forum for discussion and debate. The Gallery Administrator is responsible for assisting the Director in realising the strategic vision and goals for the gallery and for enabling individual artists to realise projects to the highest standards.
To assist the Director as required in the following tasks:
Day-To-Day Management Tasks
- To assist in staffing the gallery during business hours.
- To assist with the installation and ongoing maintenance of the exhibitions and gallery.
- To administrate, manage and document the exhibitions programme.
Artistic Programme
- To assist in the day-to-day running of the artistic programme, keeping accurate calendars, sending out information to artists and board.
Finance
- To assist in the day-to-day spending, project forecasts, and bookkeeping of the gallery.
- To assist in preparing budget and cash-flow reports.
- To work with the director and the treasurer to prepare budget forecasts to be submitted with annual and project funding applications.
Fundraising/Sponsorship
- To assist with preparing and submitting annual and project funding applications, with the support and guidance of the Director.
- To assist with preparing reports for all organisational funding.
- To assist in seeking new fundraising and sponsorship partners where the organization requires it.
Marketing and Publicity
- To assist with promotional activities and publicity including website maintenance.
- To assist with preparing information and images for mail-outs and press releases.
- To assist in updating and maintaining the mailing list.
- To assist in maintaining press contacts.
- To assist in co-ordinating and distributing of invites and mail-outs.
Reporting
- To assist in preparing financial and annual reports for the treasurer, board of trustees and funding organisations.
Miscellaneous
- To represent the gallery at openings, discussions, and other events.
