Peakbagging.co.nz is looking for a volunteer website manager and social networker.
This is a great a way to get some real life website management experience on your CV, and gives you a headstart building a career in the media industry.
www.peakbagging.co.nz is a non profit walking and tramping website dedicated to exploring New Zealand’s hills and mountain summits.
We are offering one or more volunteer positions, of two months in length. At the end of the two month period, you will qualify for written and verbal references from us – great for your CV!
As the subject of the site is walking and tramping, it would make sense if you have an interest in this topic.
Duties include:
- Contributing to the forums a few days a week (eg offering encouragement, starting discussions, putting new peaks up for voting).
- Updating the News headlines once a week
- Creating Twitter and Facebook accounts for the site and adding content to them a couple of times a week.
- Writing a monthly newsletter.
- Anything else you want to try your hand at! (eg if you want try freelance travel journalism, write a travel article about the site and walking one of the walks in your area, and submit it to your local paper).
