Policy Analyst - Arts
We are seeking to appoint a Policy Analyst - Arts to join our Community and Cultural Policy (South) team based in Manukau. The team is responsible for providing policy advice and leading a range of planning projects for the council and local boards within the southern area of Auckland. The southern area is defined as the area covered by the local boards of Mangere/Otahuhu, Otara/Papatoetoe, Howick, Manurewa, Papakura and Franklin.
Specifically the role is responsible for providing arts policy advice to the council and local boards within the southern area of Auckland as well as planning for the development and provision of arts facilities and services. The role also contributes to the development of regional policy and plans for arts and culture.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person with proven skills and experience in policy development and a strong background and expert knowledge in the arts and culture field. Previous experience in strategic planning roles within the arts and good networks within the local, regional and national arts sectors would be advantageous. Previous local or central government experience is also desirable.
You will be a strategic thinker and team player who has a can do attitude and an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and communities of interest.
