Head of Marketing and Ticket Sales - The Edge
The Centre for Performing Arts (The Edge) is New Zealand's leading performance arts centre, comprising six performance venues within the Aotea Centre, Town Hall, The Civic Theatre and Aotea Square, also incorporated is the new Viaduct Events Centre. The Centre presents diverse programs across all art forms, from classical music, drama, ballet, concerts and musicals. We deliver a wide range of arts and cultural activities to inspire and enrich the lives of Aucklanders.
Reporting to the Director, Centre for Performing Arts (CPA), you will be responsible for managing and developing the marketing and ticketing operations within CPA to maximise revenue, ticket sales and overall attendances for all events. You will also have a sound understanding of audience development.
The Head of Marketing and Ticket Sales works closely with others in the management team to ensure that the CPA continually operates at full capacity and delivers world-class performing arts and entertainment across all six venues
On a daily basis you will:
- Develop effective marketing strategies that enhance the reputation of the CPA and Regional Facilities Auckland
- Ensure sales opportunities and revenue are maximised and potential barriers are identified and mitigated
- Develop, maintain and analyse CRM data to grow audiences and sales in all markets
- Develop close relationships with key clients and promoters
- Identify partnership collaborations which enhance the CPA offer for patrons
- Oversee the Ticketing business and delivery of the three year Ticketing business plan
- Effectively manage the ticketing sales process for venues
- Further develop, implement and integrate Ticketing opportunities
Ideally, you will come from a background of performing arts or commercial entertainment (ballet, opera, theatre). You will have experience at either national and/or international level and will be passionate about presenting world-class performing arts and entertainment in our beautiful city.
To secure this challenging but exciting role you will have (as an absolute minimum):
- A tertiary qualification in Marketing/Sales and/or Business Management (or a related discipline).
- Minimum of five years experience in marketing/sales management within a commercial environment.
- Experience in event/performing arts marketing and distribution channels.
- Thorough understanding of ticketing systems, desirably Tessitura.
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills, able to effectively build constructive relationships when differing perspectives and needs exist.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Possesses a high standard of written and oral communication skills, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Thorough knowledge in your specialist area.
- Strong project management skills.
