This is a fabulous part-time opportunity to combine your love of island life with your passion for the arts.

The Artworks complex has had a strong history on Waiheke since it was established by the Waiheke community in 1991. Over the years it has served as a great community asset and arts and cultural hub. The complex consists of a gallery, a cinema, a theatre, a radio station and a music museum, a library and a waste resources centre.;

As the artworks coordinator, you will utilise your extensive experience in arts and marketing to assist in the delivery of the strategic plan for Waiheke Artworks Complex. You will work with the existing group of tenants to enhance and develop the complex as the leading arts and cultural centre for Waiheke Island. You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders to create opportunities for arts access and participation as well as initiating and supporting collaborative programmes such as festivals and exhibitions in order to increase the profile and profitability of the Artworks complex. Your extensive networking and negotiation skills will be utilised on a daily basis along with the commercial acumen you have accrued so you can bring people together and be a real advocate for both Artworks and Auckland Council.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are an absolute must have along with great report writing and time management skills. This role presents you with the perfect opportunity to make a personal contribution towards the ongoing celebration of the arts for both the residents and visitors to Waiheke Island right now and into the future.
